Cosmetic Dentistry

One of the joys of offering cosmetic dentistry is that Dr. Bernard Lynch and his staff get to see the amazing benefits available to patients. A patient who has spent years concealing his teeth now enjoys smiling and laughing with his friends. This change can make a profound difference in the quality of a person’s life. Some people gain greater confidence and for others, it’s a step toward a more professional appearance and success in their chosen careers.

It doesn’t matter if the cosmetic problems resulted from congenital malformation, antibiotic staining or gradual deterioration—Dr. Lynch knows just how to convert a broken smile into one that is brilliant. Even better, he understands how to make the procedure comfortable, even for a patient with anxieties about visiting the dentist.

Now nothing stands in your way of achieving the beautiful new smile you’ve been wishing for. To make it even easier, Dr. Lynch offers a discount to patients who sign up for their entire cosmetic treatment plans. He will also include the initial consultation at no charge and discount the price of the full treatment plan 15%.

"Dr. Lynch has provided expert patient care over the years and he is a perfectionist in alignment, color, and workmanship. He is friendly, caring, and lowkey is his approach. His office staff is very friendly and one does not mind "going to the dentist." I recommend him to all."

Dental Bonding

For small repairs, dental bonding is often the right choice. If you have minor irregularities of shape, chips, deep staining or gaps between the teeth, dental bonding in the hands of an artist like Dr. Lynch is a fast path to a better smile. A tooth-colored composite material that matches your other teeth can fill the gaps, correct the shape and conceal other damage. In a single visit in many cases, Dr. Lynch can apply and shape this corrective material to the surface of damaged teeth to provide a pleasing new look.

Dental Veneers

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that can be used to correct a single tooth, a few teeth or a whole smile. They cover discoloration, repair broken or chipped teeth and can even be used to correct moderate misalignment. In a very short time, veneers offer the chance for a patient to see a whole new and brilliant smile.

Veneers may be completed in one or two office visits. Before starting this procedure, Dr. Lynch will make sure that your teeth and gums are healthy and ready for the placement of veneers.
The procedure will start with taking impressions or images of your teeth so your veneers can be perfectly constructed for you. In some situations, the best solution is lab-created veneers. This means that your teeth will be prepared for veneers in the first visit and the porcelain shells will be applied in a second visit scheduled a couple of weeks later. In other cases, veneers can be created and applied in a single office visit. The decision is based on the dental technology that will achieve the best result for the patient.

The surface of the teeth to receive veneers will need to be prepared by etching or removing a very thin layer of enamel to allow the shell to fit comfortably over each tooth. When the veneers are ready to be applied, Dr. Lynch will ensure they are a perfect fit, making any adjustments needed before they are permanently secured. A cement is then applied to each tooth to be treated, and a special light hardens the bond in minutes. After any last minute adjustments are done, you are soon ready to go home and enjoy your new smile.
Big White Smile

Teeth Whitening

Many people wish for a brighter, whiter smile, but sometimes even good at-home care and routine maintenance isn’t enough to achieve what they want. That’s why Dr. Lynch has added teeth whitening to the services he offers.

A professional whitening service is far superior to the result you can achieve with over-the-counter products. There are also some dental situations that should be corrected before trying to whiten your teeth, such as tooth decay or gum infections. Dr. Lynch will ensure that your teeth are healthy before starting the teeth-whitening process.
Using the Zoom! in-office or at-home systems, you can quickly see a major improvement in the brilliance of your smile. The Zoom! in-office procedure can whiten your teeth as much as eight shades in less than an hour. Some patients may prefer the at-home system designed to brighten teeth in one to two weeks.

Invisalign®

The Invisalign system of correcting misalignments is preferred by many of our patients because they don’t have to live with metal wires and brackets as they straighten their teeth. Each patient receives a series of Invisalign clear acrylic aligners and wears each one for two weeks. As they progress through these carefully engineered aligners, their teeth are gradually eased into their proper positions.

Of course, the process starts with taking precise images and x-rays of your teeth and bone which allows the correct plan for your treatment to be developed. As a bonus, you will also be able to see a virtual representation of your future progress as your teeth shift into alignment.
"I have never had a more wonderful dental experience! Dr. Lynch is truly an asset to the dental community. The care was top notch. I had invisalign done in the office it was so much easier then I ever expected. I couldn't be happier a with my perfectly straight teeth. I will recommend Dr. Lynch to everyone."

The images are then sent to the designers at Invisalign so your custom aligners can be manufactured. When your aligners are ready, Dr. Lynch will show you the proper way to use them. You will wear the Invisalign aligners throughout the day and night, only removing them to eat and clean your teeth.

At the end of your treatment plan, you can finally have the straight teeth you want without the inconvenience and unsightliness of conventional braces. To find out if Invisalign is right for you, consult with Tysons Corner Dental Care today.

Digital Smile Design

The Digital Smile Design system is the state-of-the-art method of planning a patient’s route to the perfect smile. This system incorporates Dr. Lynch’s artistry with exact, computerized pre-visualization of the final result for the patient, permitting a perfect harmony throughout the execution of the treatment plan.

The first step is a consultation during which Dr. Lynch will evaluate the health and function of all your teeth, gums, bones, muscles and joints. If there are any problems, they must be corrected first so that the problems that are being addressed don’t return as a result of pre-existing malfunction or underlying disease.

Dr. Lynch will also use his skill, training and artistry to evaluate a patient’s facial shape, skin tone, size and symmetry of features and other factors to enable him to execute the perfect smile design. Digital photos and videos will be taken to record shapes and movement patterns while talking or opening and closing the mouth. Scans and x-rays complete the compilation of information needed for the project.

What is a Smile Design?

Smile Design Process

All this information is compiled into a computerized design system and the ideal smile for the patient is engineered. This is the point where a patient gets to see the final result he (or she) can achieve. When Dr. Lynch and the patient are both delighted with the expected outcome, then the manufacturing can begin.

The first manufacturing step is the creation of a prototype that can actually be fit into the patient’s mouth. The patient can actually see and feel what the design will be like and any needed changes can easily be made at this early stage.

When all adjustments have been made and Dr. Lynch and the patient both agree on the plan, specifications are sent to a dental lab. The order could include crowns, bridges, veneers or implants—they will all be prepared at the same time. Soon, the work of placing these restorations will begin. And for most patients, within a few weeks to a few months, the newly designed smile will be complete. With the Digital Smile Design system, patients get to be included in the design and decision-making process and know well before placement exactly what the outcome will be like. This is a smooth and enjoyable path for both the patient and Dr. Lynch.
"I had a complete mouth restoration by Dr. Lynch, root canals, crowns, and gum surgery. When he finished I not only had a healthy mouth, but the beautiful smile I always wanted. He did an exceptional job. Dr. Lynch explained the procedures every step of the way, and was a caring and gentle professional. I would definitely recommend him to others."

Dental Reconstruction

When time, genetics, teeth-grinding or accidents rob a person of their healthy smile, a dental reconstruction can bring it back. It could be that some teeth are missing or that they have been damaged by decay or injury. The procedures used to reconstruct this smile can include any of the following:
  • Crowns
  • Bridges
  • Inlays
  • Onlays
  • Tooth-colored fillings
  • Dental implants
  • Dentures
For a person who needs a dental reconstruction, it’s common for them to hide their smiles with their hands or avoid smiling or laughing. This avoidance can put a real damper on a person’s emotions and enjoyment of life.

A dental reconstruction is a careful, precise process of analyzing the current problems and the causes for them, and programming the steps back to a complete, healthy smile. Dr. Lynch has completed hundreds of hours of specialized training to enable him to match a patient with the right dental technology to restore that patient’s smile to perfection. Because of his artistic sense, Dr. Lynch can also match the plan to a patient’s appearance and desires. You can have your smile back. Talk to us about your dreams.

No matter what type of cosmetic surgery you need, Dr. Lynch can help. Call 703-214-2632 to schedule a consultation. And remember, when you sign up for your entire cosmetic treatment plan, you can receive a 15% discount on the price of the full treatment plan. Call us today to schedule a consultation.
